Arsenal boss Wenger also appears to have got the measure of Liverpool hero Suarez, as he is the only manager to have stopped the SAS strike-force of the Uruguayan and Daniel Sturridge scoring in the Premier League this season.
The Gunners' attempts to buy Suarez by making a hugely controversial £40,000,001 bid was the biggest transfer story of last summer.
The Anfield giants held firm and refused to sell, even after the player confirmed publicly that he wanted to leave.
The Reds' stance has reaped rich rewards - Suarez has been in superb form since and has also signed a new contract, while Liverpool are pushing for a top four finish and a return to the Champions League.
But Wenger, despite Suarez's brilliance, said ahead of Saturday's lunchtime meeting between the sides on Merseyside: "You sometimes have regrets when players who played for you score goals or do well somewhere else.
But he was never our player, it is a situation that didn't come off and that is it."
Asked if he might go back for former Ajax star Suarez in the future, Wenger added: "At the moment, no."
