7-man investigative committee that probed allegations of gross misconduct and financial impropriety against him.
President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday
said only the Peoples Democratic Party could save Nigerians despite the
challenges facing the party.
Jonathan stated this in Sokoto State
during a grand rally and reception organised for a former governor of
the state, Attahiru Bafarawa, who defected to the PDP from the All
Progressives Congress with his supporters.
The ex-VP said these in an online interview with our correspondent on Friday.
Speaking on his frequent defections,
Abubakar said they were not personal but constitutional aspirations. He
insisted that the constitution allowed him to express himself
politically, socially and economically.
Many political analysts will not blink an eye before saying that while the body of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, may still be considered to be with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, his soul is with the All Progressives Congress.
The source, who is close to the

Following the release of the 2015
election timetable by the Independent National Electoral Commission,
permutations on how the presidential candidates of the various political
parties will emerge have begun.
The Independent National Electoral
Commission has described as unfair and unfortunate comments credited to
the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Musa Rabiu Kwankwaso, and a former
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, over
the 2015 general elections.
While the governor was said to have
alleged that the timetable for the election was done to favour President
Goodluck Jonathan, the ex-Minister had claimed that “blood will flow”
after the 2015 election if it was not free and fair.
The
absence of Senate President David Mark from Thursday’s Senate plenary,
stalled the defection of 11 aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party
senators to the All Progressives Congress.
The aggrieved senators had written to Mark informing him about their decision to leave the PDP for the APC.
Members
of the House of Representatives on Thursday rejected a proposal to
simplify the process of removing the President and Vice-President from
office.
The proposal was contained in a bill
seeking to amend Section 143 of the 1999 Constitution by deleting it and
replacing with an entirely new section 143.

Democratic Party, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, and governors, elected on the
