Police arrest man for cutting two-year-old boy’s head

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Mamodu Ibrahim, for allegedly killing a two-year-old boy.
Police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, on Thursday said Ibrahim was arrested on April 12 in the Mowe area of the state at about 9.30pm.

He added, “The suspect, who had earlier raped the mother of the deceased, fled the scene immediately he killed the boy and cut off his head.

“The police operatives deployed to the area placed him under surveillance with the help of the members of the community before he was arrested where he was hiding.”

Adejobi, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said the suspect had confessed to the crime and was assisting the police in their investigation.

He said, “The State Criminal Investigation Department is in charge of the matter and all hands are on deck to recover the head of the boy from where it was allegedly sold.

The Commissioner of Police, Ikemefuna Okoye,  sympathises with the family of the boy and the people of the area; and vows to tackle crimes and criminality in the area and Ogun State in general.”

Adejobi said those found culpable in the “barbaric act” would be charged to court.
