Premier League round-up/review



Arsenal had a comfortable victory against Stoke in the first game played on Sunday.
Arsenal defeated Stoke 3 - 0 in the match played at the Emirates. Alexis Sanchez provided the cross that led to Arsenal's first goal in the 5th minute.  After a corner was half-cleared by Stoke, Sanchez sent the ball back into the box for Koscielny to head home unmarked. For Arsenal's second goal. Sanchez exchanged a quick pass with Rosicky, turned Ryan Shawcross in the box and fired a shot past Stoke's Begovic.

In the second half, Arsenal's third goal came after Arsenal were given a free-kick when Sidwell brought down Oxlade-Chamberlaine  just outside Stoke's box Sanchez took the free-kick and it went in via deflections off a Stoke player and their Keeper pushed the ball into the net after it hit the bar.
The victory against Stoke moved Arsenal into fifth place above Spurs and they are a point behind Man United who slipped into fourth place after losing to Southampton.
In Sunday's other premier league game, Man United lost 0-1 at home to Southampton.
Man United were surprisingly beaten by Southampton at home, There weren't too many ineteresting goal-mouth action  in the first half, but the game came to life in the second half.
The only goal in the game came in the 69th minute after Graziano Pelle's shot hit the post and second half substitute, Tadic, scored with the rebound.

United tried frantically to equalise in the game, their best chances fell to Juan Mata but he squandered them all.
The victory helped Southampton move above United into third position. United are now fourth on the table.
