Bye Bye to estimated billing

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company on Thursday said it would distribute two million pre-paid electricity meters to customers in South-East zone.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr Robert Dickerman, made the disclosure at Umuahia during an interactive meeting with the management and staff of Umuahia Business Unit of the company.

Dickerman said that the move was to end estimated electricity billing and inject transparent system in the operation of the company.

The managing director, who was on his maiden visit to Umuahia, also charged staff to rededicated themselves toward providing customer-friendly services.

“We have purchased 50 vehicles; plan to restructure various units to address challenges of poor facilities militating against efficient operation of public electricity supply in the area.


“The key motive of Chief Emeka Offor, the Group Managing Director of the firm is to fix the power sector in South-East,” he said.

He commended the reforms in the power sector, and stressed the need for workers and the investor to collaborate to consolidate the nation’s power sector reform.
