Beyoncé tops Forbes list

Dancing way to the top: According to Forbes, the star amassed a small fortune from her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour 2014 which made on average an amazing $2.4 million at each one of its 95 stops

Beyoncé has been named the most powerful celebrity in the world on Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 list.

The 32-year-old has her massive tour to thank for helping her beat out LeBron James, Dr Dre and even Oprah.

According to Forbes, the star amassed a small fortune from her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour 2014 which made on average an amazing $2.4 million at each one of its 95 stops.

That combined with a number one self-titled album - which reached the top with little promotion - and a platinum single Drunk In Love cemented her status.

But of course, you do not get to be the queen without diversifying and the mother of one - two-year-old Blue Ivy - also made sure she was on top thanks to her entrepreneurial pursuits including partnerships with H&M and Pepsi and her clothing and fragrance lines.

In all, the pop star made what Forbes estimated $115 million between June 1, 2013 and June 1, 2014.

But not only is she the top celebrity and top female celebrity, she is also one half of the most powerful celebrity couple.

While Beyoncé may have ranked higher than her partner Jay Z, together they are the king and queen of pop culture.

Jay was named in sixth place with an estimated $60 million in earnings from his latest album, Magna Carta, his label Roc Nation and his businesses which include his 40/40 nightclub chain and D’Ussé cognac.

And the pair will likely hold the title again next year, as the musical couple have just embarked on a double billed tour On The Run.

Beyoncé certainly made sure she definitively took the top spot with the number two ranked celebrity being basketball star LeBron James who earnt around $72 million.

But it is not all about the money, as Dr Dre landed at number three despite making a massive $620 million - more than anyone in the history of Forbes' celebrity list.

Fame and fortune: But it is not all about the money, as Dr Dre, pictured in February, landed at number three despite making a massive $620 million - more than anyone in the history of Forbes' celebrity list

While he sold his Beats by Dr Dre to Apple for an astonishingly $3 billion, the list is a measure of fame as a whole so also takes into account how many times a person was mentioned in the media and social media.

Someone probably no so excited about her ranking is last year's number one Oprah.

The talk show host to business mogul slipped to number four on the list as while she made $82 million and is known for her ability to create trends, was deemed less influential.
