Quentin & Uma go 'from friends to lovers'

'There has always been an attraction': While their friendship spans two decades, only now was the time right as they both found themselves single at the same time, with the actress reportedly finding solace in her pal following her split last month from on-again, off-again fiancé Arpad 'Arki' Busson

Twenty years after first working together on Pulp Fiction, Uma Thurman and Quentin Tarantino have reportedly taken their friendship to the next level.

Us Weekly reports that the long-time friends have embarked on a romance after the actress - whom the director has often referred to as his 'muse' - split with fiancé Arpad 'Arki' Busson last month.

The couple were particularly cosy as they hit the red carpet together on several occasions last week during the Cannes International Film Festival, with reports suggesting they even shared a villa together in the South Of France.

They had a thing and got together again recently,' an insider tells Us Weekly, adding: 'He's loved her for years.'

The pair walked hand-in-hand down the red carpet at both the Clouds Of Sils Maria premiere on May 23 and as they attended the closing ceremony and A Fistful Of Dollars screening the following day.

They also reunited with Pulp Fiction star John Travolta on the red carpet on May 23 ahead of a special 20th anniversary screening of the hit film on the beach.

The two-time Oscar-winner had his lady love in fits of laughter as he demonstrated his best dance moves in front of photographers.

'There has always been an attraction,' another source says. 'She has indulged from time to time, and that's how their relationship has always worked.'

Nine years after first teaming up together, Quentin once again directed the pretty blonde in the lead role in gory Kill Bill: Vol 1, followed by Vol 2 the following year.

Rumours are rife that a Vol 3 could be in the works, which will see them work together once more.

Speaking of their bond, the 44-year-old mother-of-three says she believes it's their differences that unite them and make their partnership work.

'I think we're really different people actually, but that's what's fun about talking to each other. We have very different perspectives,' she said during a 2004 interview. 'He's a very extroverted, public person. I'm a very introverted person. We're just very different characters.'

While the acclaimed 51-year-old director has reportedly long had feelings for Uma, only now is the timing right as they both find themselves single at the same time.
