India Man executed in Saudi

An Indian citizen convicted of murdering a Saudi man has become the third person this year to be executed by the justice system of Saudi Arabia.

Mohamed Latif was decapitated by a sabre in accordance with his sentence on Thursday, said the Saudi justice ministry.

He was found guilty of bludgeoning to death Dhafer Ben Mohamed AL-Doussari before throwing him into a well after a dispute. Al-Doussari had sponsored Latif’s entry into the Gulf state for work purposes.

In 2013 a total of 78 people were executed in Saudi Arabia, where rape, murder, armed robbery and drug trafficking are among crimes punishable by the death penalty.
