Uzoenyi in hot demand

Super Eagles striker, Ejike Uzoenyi has rebuffed advances from South African Premier Soccer League clubs because he would not want anything to distract him from his primary assignment here in South Africa – winning the African Nations Championship.

Uzoenyi, whose performance here has attracted interests from far and wide told Sports Vanguard at the Eagles Garden Court de Waal Hotel camp that numerous clubs, particularly from South Africa had come calling, but he told them to wait till after the tournament which Nigeria is already in the semi final.

’’You know when you dance very well, people spray money on you, but I don’t want to talk about anything transfer now, until after the tournament. All I can confirm is that there have been advances but I have told them to wait,’’ Uzoenyi said.

The Enugu Rangers player said his priority now is how to help his country lift its first Chan trophy. ‘’We have a task on our hands. We still have two matches to the trophy and this means we need all the concentration required to achieve the task.’’
